Sadly M.Wy.Bro. Peter Glyn Williams passed to the Grand Lodge Above on 18th December 2019 at the age of 90.
He held high office in all the Orders administered from Mark Masons’ Hall as well as the Craft, Royal Arch and Ancient & Accepted Rite, and made a considerable contribution to the development of progressive freemasonry particularly during his eleven years as Grand Secretary (1986 – 1997) at MMH. In 2010, he was awarded the Order of Service to Mark Masonry.
His greatest love and the Order from which he drew most enjoyment was The Order of the Secret Monitor of which he was Grand Supreme Ruler between 1997 and 2009. On 26th June 2001, consecrating the Peter Glyn Williams (No 456) Conclave here in the Province of Middlesex. Sadly M.Wy.Bro. Outside freemasonry he attained great distinction in the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem being created a Commander of the Order for his service.
M.Wy.Bro. Peter was laid to rest following a service at North East Surrey Crematorium, Lower Morden Lane, SM4 4NU on Friday 10th January 2020.
